Creative Opportunities

Comfy Pillow

A small pillow is made by folding a hand towel in half and stuffing it with washable fill. It is helpful after breast surgery or medical testing. You might include a blessing when giving this pillow. A sample pillow is available in the Healing Partners Resource Library.

Flowering Bulbs

Flowering bulbs such as a tulip, daffodil or narcissus can be given to family and friends of a terminally ill or deceased person. Each spring, the bulb will bloom and bring memories.

Create Your Own Finger Labyrinth

Using a template provided in the Spiritual Tool Kit, paint a labyrinth and glue string down as the walls of the labyrinth. Suggested in an article in the Fall 2001 “Spirituality and Health.”

TLC (“Temple Loving Care”) Bags

The CD Renewal of Spirit is given to someone who is ill, and the book To Begin Again by Naomi Levy is given to someone who is grieving. The bag is also filled with cocoa mix, tea, a handmade mug with candy, a smooth stone, and a colorful piece of tissue paper. Developed by Temple Beth Elohim, Wellesley. A sample bag is available in the Healing Partners’ Resource Library.
