JFS recently attended an event hosted by the co-chairs of the Framingham Interfaith Community Association (FICA), Rev. Debbie Clark of Edwards Church and Open Spirit and Rabbi Allison Porier of Temple Beth Sholom. The event had two parts: a presentation from JFS’ Chief of Programs and Partnerships Lucia Panichella about immigration in Metrowest and attendees put together welcome baskets for new community members.

The event took place at Plymouth Church in Framingham. Members from several FICA congregations came to hear Ms. Panichella speak about how we can partner together to support newcomers to our community. After the presentation, the congregation members packaged welcome baskets for immigrant families moving into apartments in the Metrowest area. These baskets included items such as toilet paper, tissues, kitchen towels, cleaning supplies, and personal care items.

Thank you to FICA for your support of JFS and your partnership in building a welcoming community!
