At the 2026 Seize the Dream celebration, JFS of Metrowest was proud to honor Rob Andrews with the JFS Max Michelson Humanitarian Award for his extraordinary compassion, leadership, and dedication to welcoming and supporting immigrant and refugee families throughout our community.
Since partnering with JFS of Metrowest in 2021 during the arrival of Afghan evacuees from Kabul, Rob and the Temple Beth Shalom Refugee Resettlement Initiative have helped transform countless lives. From furnishing apartments and organizing donations to providing transportation, friendship, and unwavering support, Rob has mobilized the generosity of communities across Needham, Dover, and Sherborn to ensure that newly arrived families feel welcomed, safe, and connected.
What began with a minivan and a garage has grown into a remarkable community-driven effort that now supports immigrant and refugee families from around the world. Through his kindness, humility, and action-oriented leadership, Rob has become a powerful example of what it means to build community and help ensure that no one stands alone.
This tribute video celebrates Rob’s impact, the partnerships that make this work possible, and the many lives touched through acts of compassion and service.
