For the 15th consecutive year, JFS of Metrowest brought our community together to help local children start the school year prepared and ready to learn. This year, more than 150 volunteers came together across three Build-A-Backpack events to pack 300 backpacks for children in need.
The events were held at The Rashi School, the Morse Institute Library in Natick, and Temple Shir Tikva in Wayland. Beyond providing essential school supplies, the events bring families and community members together in a spirit of generosity and support.

The backpacks are distributed through the JFS/FPS Resource Room, which supports the academic, social, and basic needs of immigrant and low-income children in Framingham. Families can also access seasonal clothing, footwear, and personal care items, helping them stretch limited resources for other essentials like rent, food, and medical care.
Since the program began, JFS has donated more than 5,000 backpacks to students at Framingham Public Schools and other children in need throughout the Metrowest community.
