In response to Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Metrowest and the Multifaith Alliance’s recent collaboration to send needed medical and hygienic supplies to refugee camps in Syria, Congregation Kehillath Israel (KI) and Congregation Mishkan Tefila (CMT) of Brookline have teamed up to organize a backpack drive to collect needed relief and engage the 384 Harvard Street Campus community.

The storage container for the JFS/Multifaith Alliance (MFA) Mobilize Boston Initiative has arrived!

The event will take place on Sunday, April 7th, as part of Good Deeds Day, a global initiative that connects people from across the world and from over 100 countries to do good in their communities. The project organizers are excited to share that Good Deeds Day will occur the day after a Campus visit and lecture by HIAS CEO, Mark Hetfield — allowing participants to first learn about the significance of aiding vulnerable populations and then get involved in a personal way.

We thank KI, CMT, and all of the community members that will take action to donate essential supplies to Syrian families in need.
