Your Help is Needed Now More Than Ever
Dear Friends and Supporters of JFS,
We hope this finds you and your family in good health. We are writing to you today to ask for your support in addressing emerging and emergency community needs. As a responsive community-based social service agency, JFS is often the first-place community members call when they are in crisis. Over the last few weeks, with no relief from inflation driven costs, JFS has been inundated with calls from neighbors struggling to make ends meet and desperate for help.
Of great concern is the large and increasing number of calls from families and older adults who are unable to pay the rising costs of housing. Rents, utilities and taxes all are skyrocketing and many who are living on a low or fixed income, through no fault of their own, cannot meet these expenses. Finding safe and affordable shelter for those struggling with the possibility of eviction and homelessness is of critical importance, made more challenging than ever before due to the lack of affordable housing in our area.
For the last 45 years, JFS has responded to our neighbors’ calls for help. Driven by your generosity and a commitment to support our neighbors in need, the lives of over 7,800 people are impacted significantly each year. To ensure our ability to continue this impact, we are asking for your continued assistance. Please make an unrestricted donation today. Eighty percent of JFS’ annual revenue is made up of philanthropic dollars, supported by donors like you. Your confidence in JFS’ mission, leadership, programs and service fuels this important work every day, and for this we are so grateful.
