Recently, JFS in collaboration with Daniel’s Table held a pop-up event in Framingham! Residents of the Framingham area came to Daniel’s Table to pick up necessary food items inside then after a quick registration process, they participated in the pop-up.

JFS pop-up events are an extension of the JFS/FPS Resource Room where clothes, shoes and other items are brought to and set up at locations in the community so that families can select and receive items at no charge, close to where they live and work so that barriers such as transportation do not prevent them from getting items they need but may not otherwise be able to afford.

JFS was lucky to have five dedicated JFS volunteers, five Daniel’s Table volunteers and five JFS staff members at the event to help residents navigate through the process and get what they need. There were many items available at the JFS pop-up such as clothing in a range of sizes and styles, children’s shoes, underwear and personal care items like toothpaste, body wash and deodorant. During the checkout process families were able to take packs of Vitamin Water or Powerade that was generously donated. Having drinks like those are very helpful during the summer heat wave to stay hydrated and replenish your body.

Many residents expressed their gratitude for all of the new items they were able to receive and asked when the next pop-up event would be. We were able to help over 100 families in the Framingham area from this event alone!

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and partners at Daniel’s Table for another successful event!
