It is with abundant gratitude that JFS thanks Board Member Phil Strauss and his wife Rachel, and Board Member Neil Ross and his wife Tracy (not pictured) for their generous donations of Amazon gift cards to be distributed as Hanukkah gifts to the children of JFS clients! The Family Assistance program works with the Holiday Dreams Foundation to ensure that young family members are able to enjoy the spirit of the holidays, and the gift cards donated by the Strauss family will be given to older children so they may make their own selections and enjoy the gifts that mean the most to them.
With the support of generous donors like these, JFS is able to offer many services free of charge to over 7,800 people within the Metrowest and Greater Boston regions each year, serving vulnerable families, individuals, immigrants, and older adults aging in place.
Dedicated to accelerating social, academic and health equity, JFS is:
- Increasing the ability of frail older adults to maximize independence and quality of life as they navigate the challenges that come with aging
- Providing safety, hope and opportunity for refugees victimized by world conflict
- Advancing equity with comprehensive assistance that empowers immigrant families to succeed
- Reducing poverty in our community with case management, basic needs assistance and employment readiness support
- Mobilizing social justice action that has meaningful impact in our community and beyond
JFS provides the tools to meet life’s obstacles to stabilize during a crisis and optimally achieve self-sufficiency, strengthen lives, improve wellbeing, and build a stronger community. JFS’ sound fiscal management practices have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.
