For their Bar and Bat Mitzvah projects, Mikey Darish and Amelia Halloran chose to support the work of JFS in meaningful and heartfelt ways.

Mikey organized a food drive, rallying his classmates, family, and friends to donate non-perishable items to the JFS Joe and Lucy Press Food Pantry. Amelia focused her efforts on the JFS/FPS Resource Room, collecting summer clothing—T-shirts, shorts, and other warm-weather essentials—for individuals and families in need.

Through their projects, Mikey and Amelia exemplified the Jewish values of tzedakah (charitable giving), chesed (kindness), and tikkun olam (repairing the world), while also developing leadership, initiative, and a deeper connection to their community.

We’re proud to share that both Mikey and Amelia plan to continue their collections into the fall, extending the impact of their mitzvah work beyond a single moment.

Thank you, Mikey and Amelia, for your compassion, generosity, and dedication to helping JFS support those in need. You’re an inspiration to us all!
