This Hanukkah, a Match Means More

As we at JFS enjoy Hanukkah celebrations with loved ones, the work we do every day reminds us that there are many who are not so lucky. For those struggling to make ends meet, the holidays are often a grim time when hard decisions – such as whether to pay the rent or buy holiday gifts – are real and painful.

During these busy days, we ask you to take a moment to remember our neighbors in need as part of your traditions and reflections, and consider making a donation that can help support a family in crisis through difficult times.

Many families set aside one night of Hanukkah to give gifts of tzedakah, reinforcing the value of helping others at a time when we celebrate with family and friends. This year, a generous JFS supporter is making that sentiment a community-wide opportunity by matching donations made from Sunday, November 28th – Monday, December 6th. Please join us in helping our community finish the calendar year in a position of strength by making a donation to JFS this Hanukkah.

Please post a photo of your family lighting the menorah on Facebook, using the hashtag #JFSMatchMeansMore to encourage others to make a difference in the lives of those who need it the most.
