Hanukkah is a holiday celebrating the miracle of light. JFS is thrilled to celebrate its own miracles this holiday season. We invite you to follow along with the #8NightsofJFS!

Night 1: JFS is proud to have delivered over 10,000 meals to isolated older adults in the Jewish and broader community this year! #8NightsofJFS

Night 2: JFS celebrates the collection of over 300 backpacks of school supplies for young low-income children as they wrestle with the challenges of remote and hybrid learning. #8NightsofJFS

Night 3: JFS continues to respond to the needs of the immigrant community – particularly families with young children struggling with loss of income and childcare. This includes the distribution of over 70,000 personal care items, including toiletries, toilet paper, and feminine hygiene products. #8NightsofJFS

Night 4: JFS ensures a safe environment for hundreds, especially single immigrant mothers and their children, helping them access necessary medical care and maintain lodging when they were threatened with homelessness, including providing over $60,000 in rental assistance in 2021. #8NightsofJFS

Night 5: This year, JFS has helped over 300 Jewish families with hundreds of hours of coordinating/case navigation services and providing basic needs assistance, including funeral costs, bereavement support and mental health services. #8NightsofJFS

Night 6: We celebrate the distribution of over 3,000 items of clothing through the JFS Children’s Clothing Closet, which provides a seasonal response to the clothing needs of elementary school age children in the Metrowest community, with a specific focus on the most economically challenged schools in Framingham. #8NightsofJFS

Night 7: In 2021, JFS has attended to the needs of hundreds of medically-compromised older adult clients with homemaker and personal care services enhancing safety, dignity, and independence. #8NightsofJFS

Night 8: On the final night of Hanukkah, we recognize the miracles shared over the previous 7 nights and celebrate that JFS has helped over 7,500 community members in need this year! #8NightsofJFS
