JFS received a donation of 50 crocheted blankets from an effort called ‘Welcome Blanket’ that is coordinated by Hadassah Margolis. These crocheted blankets will be distributed to incoming Ukranian Families that will be arriving to the Metrowest area in late April.

‘Welcome Blanket’ is a nationally known project established by Jayna Zweiman. Their goal is to have 2,000 miles of yarn knitted into blankets for new immigrants and refugees arriving to the U.S. They invite people of all ages, skill levels, genders and religions to join in knitting/crocheting/sewing/quilting. The Welcome Blanket team also encourage participants to write about their family’s own immigration stories, along with words of support and welcome. Over 6,000 blankets thus far are displayed and distributed to 30+ resettlement agencies including JFS!

A big thank you to Hadassah Margolis and the members of Welcome Blanket for the wonderful donation!
