Michelle Parven, Art Teacher at Natick Public Schools and friend of JFS, recently volunteered to host an interactive art class with some of the Haitian families that are working with JFS.
The class focused on young children and their families. Michelle brought markers and oil pastels for the kids to draw and color with on construction paper. The children also got to practice writing the names of colors in English! All of the families who attended expressed their gratitude and really enjoyed spending quality time together.
This event is the first of many initiatives JFS plans to continue going forward with the goal of bringing ongoing community connections to immigrant families and those living in shelters.
