Black History Month is more than just a time of reflection—it is a powerful celebration of the achievements, resilience, and contributions of African Americans throughout history. Since its official recognition in 1976, every U.S. president has designated February as a month to honor Black pioneers, leaders, and trailblazers whose impact continues to shape our communities and nation.

Black History Month is deeply intertwined with the pursuit of social justice. It is a time not only to celebrate the remarkable contributions of Black Americans but also to recognize the ongoing struggle for racial equality. This month serves as a platform to acknowledge historical injustices, amplify Black voices, and advocate for systemic change to address discrimination and disparities that persist today.

At JFS, we are proud to stand in solidarity with those working toward a more just, inclusive, and equitable society. As we honor Black history, we also recommit ourselves to fostering a future where diversity is celebrated, opportunities are accessible to all, and justice is truly realized.

Let us use this month as an opportunity to learn, reflect, and take meaningful action in support of racial equity—because Black history is American history, and its legacy continues to inspire us all.
