On Thursday January 26th, JFS hosted Pints & Purls at Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers in Framingham. Guests enjoyed a tour of the brewery, a tasting, information about JFS of Metrowest, and a knitting lesson with Lisa and Andi from Elissa’s Creative Warehouse. Light refreshments were served as guests arrived and mingled; some even played the basketball game in the event room! Guests heard how JFS is accelerating social, academic, and health equity in the community from Jayne Lampert, Senior Director of Philanthropy and Lucia Panichella, Senior Director of Programs and Partnerships. On the brewery tour, we learned and saw the step-by-step process of how Jack’s Abbys’ beers are created and distributed. Dinner was served after the tour, and then the knitting began! Lisa and Andi from Elissa’s Creative Warehouse taught new and seasoned knitters tips and tricks on how to make a great scarf. Lisa shared a poem for beginning knitters “In through the front door, once around the back, peek through the window, and off jumps jack”.  A big thank you to all who attended and made this event a success!
