Job Title: Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

Schedule: Very flexible, 5-15 hours/month, most work can be scheduled between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, Mon-Fri.

Company: Jewish Family Service of Metrowest (JFS) is a nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to accelerating social, academic and health equity and provides services to over 8,000 people in need within the Metrowest and Greater Boston regions each year, including assistance that supports the academic success of low income children, nutrition and basic family assistance for struggling families, citizenship and immigrant programs, and geriatric care management and other support services that enable frail older adults to live independently. JFS’ mission is to provide vital social, health and community services to alleviate suffering, enhance lives and support people in need.

Position Description: The JFS Homecare program is growing and JFS seeks to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide supervision to homecare direct service providers.

No direct RN medical care is a requirement of this position. LPNs will work under the supervision of an RN.

This team member will supervise direct service staff who are providing personal care services to ensure safety and client well-being. This team member:

  • Conducts quarterly field supervision for direct service staff as they deliver in-home support to clients.
  • Is called upon to provide assessments when client well-being is in question
  • Supervises the first visit between a direct service staff member and a client when assignments change or new clients are enrolled in the program

Typically, each session will take approximately 1-2 hours for direct supervision and required reporting.

The ideal candidate is a compassionate and caring individual who has daytime availability to meet with direct service staff in the homes of medically-compromised, low-income older adults. Great opportunity to supplement income. Retired nurses invited to apply!

Requirements:

    • Valid state of MA RN or LPN License
    • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
    • In good health, TB screening mandatory
    • Fluent in English/good communications skills; multilingual a plus (Spanish and/or Portuguese)
    • (2) work references in the healthcare industry
    • Must enjoy working with the older adult population

Location: Framingham, Ashland, Natick, Marlborough and surrounding towns in greater Metrowest area

Compensation:

  • $35.00/hour
  • Reimbursement for travel miles from JFS
